Dawkins’ World View
Richard Dawkins is a fervent atheist. This is evident in his rambling rant, “The God Delusion”. Readers will likely drown in the currents of this book, and in comparison, Islam is like coming to the surface to get fresh air. Islam is clarity and simplicity by comparison.
The beauty of Islam, as will become apparent through this review of what caused Dawkins’ delusions, is that it is compatible with science and yet challenges science with facts that the have yet to discover.
For a Muslim, there is a raised consciousness that results from reading this book. Dawkins reveals how sick and psychotic the mind of the atheist is. A Muslim will gag and gasp in shock as some of his reasoning, and thank God for the guidance imparted by His grace to the Muslim reader.
Living a Muslim’s life assists in the development of the innate “criterion” (furqaan in Arabic) to perceive pure and just right and wrong. As the Quraan states,
“O you who believe! If you have Taqwa1 of Allah, He will grant you a criterion, and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you; and Allah is Owner of the great bounty.)(8:29)”.
It is this discernment or standard that helps the Muslim see error and wrong where and atheist would reason differently. A Muslim, with as small a degree of Islamic education as I have, will come through reading this book with a better sympathy for the unbeliever and possibly some tools for their conversion.
Dawkins’ challenge in writing the book was that,
“If this book works as I intend, religious readers who open it will be atheists when they put it down”.
Here I will show that atheism is like a fungus on the skin and cannot reach the heart where the truth in religion resides.
The ramblings of this book will make the lost further astray, the confused more befuddled and give the disillusioned some vengeance. It is up to Muslims to point to the straight way ( ) out of the Dawkins’ Delusion. This book will treat the syndrome that I will call he Dawkins’ Delusion Syndrome. We need to thank Dawkins for so openly revealing the symptoms of this unnatural condition.
Notes
- Taqwa (Piety):
- Meaning of Taqwa: The root meaning of Taqwa is to avoid what one dislikes. It was reported that `Umar bin Al-Khattab asked Ubayy bin Ka`b about Taqwa. Ubayy said, "Have you ever walked on a path that has thorns on it'' `Umar said, "Yes.'' Ubayy said, "What did you do then'' He said, "I rolled up my sleeves and struggled.'' Ubayy said, "That is Taqwa.''
